Day 6

This is day 6 of the transformation and my 3rd workout for the week was completed this morning before church. Woke up early to make it to the gym on time.

I'm not gonna say much other than thank you all for keeping me accountable. Yesterday my family bought fried chicken for dinner, along with mashed potatoes, and honey biscuits. I found the will power to say no to that food.

My goal is to eat clean at least 90% of the time, but I want to pick my other 10% wisely.

This past week I did "cheat" once. I'm not gonna tell you what I ate because some of you might find it gross...o.k. fine I'll tell you. I ate a tripa taco. If you don't know what that is just go to Google Images and type in Tripa Tacos. They are cow intestines. And they are delicious.

You might find this hard to believe, but it's been years since I last had this so when my mom bought them I just had to have at least 1 taco. And that's all I had, just 1 taco. Believe me, I wanted to eat more.

Apparently they are high in protein, but they are cooked in oil so that is the bad part.

That's what it is all about. You can cheat a little and still get results. 90% compliance is the name of the game.

That's great willpower. We are definitely proud of your progress... and more progress is to come!

Day:10

So it's day 10 and I just got back from the gym. I'm starting to realize that my diet and my workouts are actually giving me more energy throughout the day and I'm feeling less sluggish at work.

Today I completed workout A from the 2k6 program. I need to find an alternative to chinups so will probably Google it later.

Yesterday I did cheat, but like I said in a previous thread, I want to pick my 10% cheat meals wisely.

My friend/mentor invited me to lunch, he always goes to the same mexican restaurant so finding a healthy meal is hard to find on the menu. Besides, why would I eat a salad at a mexican restaurant? So I had the days special of 1 taco, 1 enchilada, and 1 chalupa, with rice and beans. That was the only cheat meal for the day, and perhaps the week.

Just got back from the gym. After Monday I'll be officially done with week 3. I have to start thinking of which TT workout will be next.

I got my first compliment a few days ago at work from one of my co-workers. She's a fitness freak so I trust her judgement. She was trying to encourage me not to eat the chocolate that another co-worker had given me. She said "Luis, don't eat that chocolate, you are looking really good, I can see a difference." Needless to say, I still ate the chocolate. But hey, I'm not perfect.
