Default Getting it done!

I started the TT transformation a week ago but just today finally got my membership all squared away! I'm really excited that I'm on this journey and looking forward to reshaping my lifestyle into something that I can be proud of. I feel like I'm a muscular man trapped inside a fat man's body.

The main reason I'm doing this challenge is that there has to be some breaking point and I finally found it. My wife and I are expecting our first child in 4 days! I woke up about two weeks ago, and just realized that this is not the lifestyle that I want to raise my son around. I want to be a positive role model and lead by example.

A lot of my problems with yo yo dieting and struggling with my weight go back to my home environment growing up.

Anyways, I may or may not post my before photos *shudder*. I remind myself of the Stay Puft Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters.... All pale and white and gooey. Anyways, that's all for now...

Welcome Commander!

Congratulations on the kiddo! Let us know when the baby arrives. Stay strong through this challenge too, and never forget your motivation.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the support. Will post picture of baby once he is here.

So I decided that even though fat loss is my main goal, I would try to couple that with muscle gaining, so I started Craig's TT muscle building program. Enjoying it so far! I am wondering about Workout B. One of the exercises is the Barbell step-up. Can I substitute that with a DB step-up? What would the difference be in muscle groups worked? I'm a little weary about doing the BB as I am clumsy and would most likely kill myself... Which would be counter-productive.

Also, just wanted to post a sample of my nutrition. I read through the Simple Nutrition and I've got to say that it changed my views on a lot of things. I've spent this past week eating as whole and raw as I possibly could and I've got to say I'm feeling the best I've ever felt. My mental awareness and energy levels have really grown. Some things I've given up have been:

* Alcohol
* Sugar-Free Energy Drinks
* Have replaced sucralose with Stevia
* Have replaced frozen lean cuisine type meals with fresh chicken and other

I've also started eating WAY more fruits and vegetables. I used to buy like a 30 pound bag of mini carrots and that would last me a couple of weeks. In the past week alone I've added: Lettuce, Peas, Kale, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Peppers of all colors, Cucumbers, Beets, Radishes

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm also making a point of trying a new recipe every week. Last weekend was Latin style Quinoa which was delicious. Anyways, that's all for now.

Yes, DB step-up is great. Just wanted to protect the grip. You can hold a db "goblet style"

Really great to hear about your nutrition and energy!

Please share the quinoa recipe if you can.

Thanks,

Craig

Here is the link for the Quinoa recipe. Super good. Even better as leftovers! If you like Mexican flavors like Cilantro and Lime, you will love this!

I forgot to mention my starting weight last week was 204 lbs (yikes). It's amazing how that weight can creep up. Measured my waist in at 41 big ones (That's inches). I've got a lot of work ahead of me.
