Well, just remember........YOU are the boss of what goes into your mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!! First hint of any cold coming on, take some zinc.......sometimes that will finish it off, before you really "get it"................

Well.........went to the doc today...........no virus, no cold, no bacterial infection. Sore throat due to really bad reflux! Apparently, I go to bed at night & the acid just comes up & burns away.........might have to raise the bed-head a bit! The bizarre thing is, I'm eating pretty well on the whole, no greasy foods, no alcohol since the hols, no Indian curries or mexican feasts lately either, so WT????? One bad habit I do have that the doc pointed out is having a snack too close to my bedtime.........I try & get into bed by 9.30pm & sometimes I still have a small snack at 8-8.30pm. Maybe (ummm.....no.....probably definitely)....... if I cut that out, it would solve a couple of problems....prolly less calories too!!

Did a spin class this morning with a throbbing headache too.........not good........thought my eyeball was going to pulse right out of my skull! I knew I should have popped a couple of painkillers beforehand........but I hate popping pills..........I can tell everyone else to take stuff, but can't stand doing it myself?

Our son has been such a good little boy today.......wish he was like that everyday......like GroundHog Day! LOL.

Threw out some assorted crackers & dry biscuits that were in the cupboard.......no one seems to be eating them anymore, so no point just taking up room & if visitors come over..... stiff! Replaced them with pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds & also bought some quinoa........anyone tried that??

Yes Rob..........I'm the only goose with that very special control over what goes in my mouth & I will be thinking of you while I'm out socialising this week!!

I used to have reflux problems like you until I stopped eating after 6:30pm (I sleep around 9:30 or 10). Also, try cutting out everything starchy at night and just stick to fruit, veg and other whole food. I had quite bad oesophageal erosion as a result of acid reflux and it took about 3 months to recover (with medication).

Hope you get well soon.

That could be a whole new avenue for Brad to explore - Eat, Bitch, Eat!!!

Well done for getting a session done even when you didn't feel like it - it's that sort of determination that brings results!!

Keep up the effort and you'll see the improvements!

Thanks Chris........you'll appreciate this being a running guru: Determination is my hubby running a marathon in 3hrs, 36mins with a foot injury that was giving him grief just walking to the start line to sign in!! Needless to say he's struggling to get back into the running 3 weeks later........longest run since.......was today.....25mins! He's getting specially made orthotics so he can keep up his running.......$500 AUS dollars......

That's what I'm afraid of. I've had a stomach ulcer before & that was not good! The last thing I need is a an oesophageal ulcer.........they do take ages to heal!

If you want some recipes for quinoa, I have a few. One for breakfast and another for a salad. And, they have nutritional information (always a bonus!)

Quinoa is high in protein. It can be bitter if you don't rinse it in several changes of water before cooking.

I can have problems with reflux if I eat too close to bedtime.
