Hi Crystal
Nice to see you in TC6. I'm so sorry I let you down on TC5, I just fell off the planet. We had some nasty personal stuff happen in june, and then I left for montreal for the summer and I needed to get my focus back.
I am excited about TC6, and the timing is perfect. Maybe we can try and do this one together.... since it didn't really work out in TC5 ??!! Just a thought.
I will be there to support you throughout your total LIFE transformation.
Chat later!! :-)

I've been doing some short hikes the last few weeks, so I'm definitely up for it!! I joined a Meetup group that does 2 hour hikes which is just about perfect for this time of year. PM me if you want to know which one it is and I'll get you the info.

Default Goals and plan

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes on my journey! I'm planning on starting on Monday or Tuesday, depending on if/when the gym can do a bf testing on me. So, here are some of my goals and strategies....

Goals
1. Drop 1 pant size and about 10 pounds of fat
2. Increase number/difficulty of pull-ups (using the weighted pull-up machine at the gym)
3. Eat well 90% of the time, allowing 2-3 treats per week.
4. Get in at least 3 workouts a week
5. Prepare for my first 5K RUN (I've walked them before)

Strategies
1. Keep calories around 1700 per day
2. Keep track of how many treats I have per week
3. Print out a 5K training plan and follow it to the best of my ability
4. Post meals and workouts here EVERY day to help me follow my plan
5. Find something to relieve stress (maybe a massage once a month)

I'll add more as I think of them.

I know...I really should make the appts in advance. I just thought yesterday that a pedicure might be a good one for a treat, too, and they have the massage chairs so it's like a two in one treat for myself!!

Default Day 1

Well, I'm going to call today day 1 for now. I have to try to get my BF tested at the gym this evening and will have to take measurements and pics this evening, but that should all be do-able. I did weigh myself this morning and it's a pretty dispicable number to start with. Had a really bad eating day yesterday and didn't drink nearly enough water, so I'm sure a lot of this is water weight (at least I HOPE!), but my initial weigh in was at 157.2. That is about 7 pounds heavier than I ended TC4 at and I'm sure my measurements are way out there too. That's ok! Like Pumbaa says, "You have to put your past in your behind", so I'm moving forward from today on!! Here's my meal plan and workout plan for today:

Plan for today, 8/31/09

Breakfast: cottage cheese, Ezekiel raisin toast w/ butter
Snack: yogurt, banana
Lunch: 1/2 Tuscan Chicken sandwich (chicken, basil, moz cheese on cibata roll), carrots, pear
Snack: boiled egg, carrots, peach
Post workout: chocolate milk
Dinner: Seared Ground beef w/ zucchini and tomatoes
Snack: apple w/ cashew butter

Total est calories: 1794
Fat: 30%
Carbs: 41%
Protein: 29%

I'm starting a new routine today for my workouts. I think it will really challenge me! I'm doing the Hardcore Fat Loss. Here's what Workout A looks like:

Hardcore Fat Loss Workout A

Warm-up
Y-Squat - 10 reps
Decline push-ups - 8 reps
Bulgarian Split Squat - 8 reps per side
Spiderman climb - 10 reps per side

Specific warm-up
DB Flat press - 8 reps @ 50%
DB Row - 8 reps @ 50%
DB Flat press - 8 reps @ 75%
DB Row - 8 reps @ 75%

Workout A
DB Flat press - 3x6 reps
DB Row - 3 X 6 reps

DB Triple Press - 3 X 6 reps
BB Row - 3 X 10 reps

Deadlift - 3 X 20 reps (@50% of your "normal" weight)

Rest 60 secs between sets

Interval Workout A

3 min warm-up
30 sec on
30 sec off
repeat for 6 intervals
3 min cool-down

Looks like a tough one!! I may not do the intervals, though, since I'm training for my first 5K. I just signed up today for a 5K on November 15th, about a week before I finish this contest. I have walked them before but this will be the first one I run, unless I end up signing up for another one before then which I would probably run/walk. I'm super excited! It's called Iron Girl and it's only for women. It sounds like a really big deal because they have breakfast after the race for you and everyone who participates gets a completion medal. Also, I'll be in the 35-39 age group then (I turn 35 in 6 days) so I'll be the "young pup" of that age group. Not that I think I would even place, but it's nice to think I MIGHT!! LOL. I'm going to go check out the Nike + training program for your first 5K and get it printed out so that I can start working on it this week.

OK, so that's pretty much it for my plan for today, day 1 of TC6! I'll check in tomorrow at the latest to show you my progress!
