I had a good workout today, and yesterday I did some morning walking. I will do the morning walk again tomorrow.

I've been working on my omelet making skills and I am getting pretty good at it. I sautee some frozen veggie mix that has peppers, onions, green beans and broccoli and it goes perfect in the omelet. I'm sure there are a few people on this site that would cringe at eating frozen vegetables but I happen to like them. I like the variety and the shorter prep time. And I would not be putting vegetables in my omelet if there wasn't an easy convenient veggie medley to go in there lol. The only meal of the day that I typically did not eat vegetables was for breakfast, but that can now change.

After some measuring daily for a week or so I can confirm that my navel measurement did go down. Right now its at about 33-33.5, I began at 36. My weight is constantly hovering between 178-185. So far so good, I'm gaining lots of strength without gaining lots of weight, all while dropping some belly fat.

Frozen vegetables are very handy! I don't have an issue with either frozen vegetables or canned beans. That omelet sounds delicious.

I really really love the frozen chopped vegetables like onions, peppers, mushrooms...so handy when I need to through something together quick. Up here, the quality of the frozen can actually be better than the fresh and most often it's much cheaper. I do prefer fresh, but I live a long ways from town so I generally need to have lots of frozen options since sometimes it can be 2-3 weeks between grocery shopping.

Congrats on the dropping measurements...always a good feeling!

Its good to know I'm not the only one enjoying the frozen veggies. They actually are very high quality these days.

Last night I had some beers at the bar and got a little too merry. I had to sleep off a hangover and my workout suffered.

But I needed a day to unwind, you can't be a machine all the time lol. Then again I should probably start making it a Friday or Saturday so its not impacting my workouts.

Last night going to bed I weighed 193 lbs.... Yikes. This morning I'm more like 187, still high. I don't know whats going on. I'm just going to go with water retention due to the drinking from Thursday (seems too long ago,) and salty foods. I've never had this much weight gain so fast so I hope nothing is wrong. Hopefully it was just temporary and things will go back to normal. I'm fasting today because its my normal fasting day. I'm going to go for a walk.

I think I will take a week off this week because its now been 12 weeks of training. I feel like I need the rest.

I need to take some time to evaluate my nutrition and my approach. This temporary massive weight gain will cloud my judgement so I will report back later this week.

I don't know if this will help you, but here is a good article on the science of "scale fluctuations"

http://www.leighpeele.com/water-rete...and-weight-los

if you look under the "more" tab on top and under the archives there is a part 2 as well. I am reading her Fat Loss Troubleshoot right now, and she has a good page of a graph of the fluctutations of a person's loss...you can see it all over the graph, but it shows a definite downward trend.

I have been going through a bit of this all myself, so I feel for you. I hope things look better for you after a break.

let us know how things are going.

Tina

Don't stress. If you were 178 before Thursday and went up to 187, I would say it was definitely water weight unless you ate 31500 (!!!) calories OVER your BMR.

I've had a few real crazy scale jumps and it seems like it took a few days, but they did come back down to normal. I'm looking forward to taking a small break at the end of this contest...Sunday and starting a new TT workout.

Thanks Tina, Jami, and Gerry for the support and comments.

I gave it a few days and things are back to normal. I'm at about 181. I really must have thrown my hydration level out of whack. But when you don't drink often and then semi binge you are bound to suffer the consequences.

It is definitely worth it to have some fun though for sanity's sake, you can't always be a workout and school work machine.

So far the transformation is going better with the muscle building that with the fat loss, but this is probably to be expected because I am eating a surplus and only fasting once a week.

Cut from stone, maybe not yet, probably more like molded from clay, but at least I am not a Jello mold lol.
