Thanks for dropping by Abby. I hear you loud and clear on the nutrition. I've built up my nutrition to a level where I'm quite comfortable but that doesn't mean it can't get better.

Great to see you back in the forums Nathalie. I know you had a rough time with the last contest and I hope you'll join TC6. You've always been a great support to me during the previous contests and I appreciate your support on this one too. I'll be there for you too...

That's great Kitty. We should definitely form a "gluten-free" inner circle to exchange ideas and help each other out.

I KNOW I keep leaving the cookbook at work cuz I'm copying recipes out of it! Hopefully I have time tomorrow to post some more. I work 2 jobs now and all my kids are in 3 different schools plus 2-3 different sports teams AT those school, so I dont usually roll thru the door home til 8-9 at night, then I gotta eat and work out and do housework1 Luckily I stop the 2 jobs mid-end sept and gives me PLENTY of time to rev up the workouts for end of TT6! Plus Carl should be home to help with kids too.

I am interested in the gluten free bread recipe. I like a piece of toast with eggs. I have another recipe I'll post tonight for waffles that taste like gingerbread.

I am going to have to stay away from sugar---a real trigger. I made some chocolate chip cookies using the Toll House recipe and Red Mill baking mix. They were really good. I ate them all in a couple of days. I was going to have one or two and take the rest to church for the after-service social. Ha!

I made brownies from a raw recipe on this site using dates and avocados. Inhaled them too.

My big difficulties with gluten-free come up in social situations.

I don't know how you do it Jess! Whew! Don't worry about the recipe...whenever you have time.

I'll look out for your waffles recipe - sounds good.

I know what you mean about the sugar being a trigger - I avoid it at all costs and for the most part am successful in doing so. We don't have any "goodies" around the house any more and I found that "out of sight, out of mind" really works.

As for avoiding gluten in social situations, it can be really tough to handle sometimes - but planning ahead as much as possible works for me. I'll have a small healthy snack before I go out so that I don't get tempted by the bread basket or some other "tripping hazard"!

Funny story: there's a Lebanese restaurant I visit frequently when I'm Abu Dhabi (in the UAE) - I travel alot for work. I'd already ordered my meal and there was a new waitress who asked me if I wanted bread and one of the other waitresses who'd served me from earlier visits shouts out across the room, "No, he doesn't eat bread!"

Well, I've just had a major TT forum marathon and tried to stop by everyone's thread. One of my non-fitness goals this time around to support the other contestants as much as I can. It helps that I have more free time, a very valuable asset that I haven't had much of for the last six months or so.

I've started making the detailed plans for the contest and other than swimming every other day, haven't been getting any activity in.

I'm planning to start a BW routine from today to get some basic conditioning in time for my 18 September start.
