I wish I could say something that hasn't already been said. Great advise has been given to you. The people here are great for support when you need it. Congrats on making the changes! In the long run you'll be a lot happier that you did!

Good luck on our journey! Stay strong! You WILL accomplish all you want and more!

Hi Randy! Stay stong on the no alcohol! Its hard isn't it.. That compulsion just seems to drag you in! I get a little depressed earlier this year, and we had a lot of movie nights that also involved "special" drinks.. It becomes a habit really quick! Still trying to kick it, but its a lot better than what it was.

Default Day 4 Update

Just going to post a quick update this morning... I'm in a hotel and typing this on my phone. I'll post a more detailed workout log later. Had a good day yesterday, did TT beginner workout B and Interval workout B. Went out for supper with the guys from work and resisted the temptation to have a few drinks. It feels good to be doing the right thing.

Will be in meetings all day today and then staying in a hotel again tonight but I'll do my best to stay on track with nutrition.

Have a great day everyone.

Edit: added workout log for Day 4

Warm-up:
Prisoner Squat x 10
Kneeling Pushup x 8
Lying Hip Extensions x 8

DB Chest Press 20 lb each side x 8
DB Step-ups (no weight) x 8

Main Workout:

DB Chest Press 30 lbs each side x 10
DB Step-ups 20 lbs each side x 10

Kneeling Elevated Push-ups x 6 each side
1-Leg Hip Extension x 10 each side

Plank x 20 seconds
Bird Dogs x 6 each side

Followed by Interval Workout B:
4 - 1 minute intervals with one minute of rest between them.

Did the intervals at maximum resistance on the stationary bike, rest periods were 6 notches down from max. resistance.

I just got around to reading your thread now. Not sure what else I can say that hasn't already been said except that I admire your courage to lay things down like you did in your opening thread.

Like all the others have said, I too am here to help in any way I can in terms of support. I wish you the best of luck in becoming the better person you want to become in every aspect.

You seem to moving in the right direction so far, so stay the course.

If resisting the drinks is not possible, have your drink and make the next one water - then alternate............think that was to prevent a hangover as well, if I remember from an article I read on that subject.................

Default Day 5 Update

Thanks again for the kind words...

Another brief check-in from my phone this morning. I'm traveling up to the plant site I work at in northern Alberta, so spent the night in a hotel. Took the night off from working out, but stayed on track pretty well nutritionally. Just stayed in the room and worked on my high school math courses.

Will be doing workout A tonight.

Have a great day everyone.
