Default Workout of the month finisher alternative

Hi,
Thanks for the new muscle meat head 14 workout of the month.

Regarding workout C- I do not own a rowing machine, could you suggest an alternative finisher? I have a Bank, dumbbells, barbells, my bodyweight, stability Ball and one of these things that you stand on to train your Balance. So basically everything, but no rowing machine. :P

Thanks a lot!

Hi Florian!

With regard to the finisher in workout C I simply picked the rower because it's a great full body workout. However any full body exercise will do so long as you can make a note of what you managed to complete and try to beat that total each subsequent week.

So you could do something like the following:

5 minute burpee test. Try and get as many reps as possible in 5 minutes and then try and beat that total each week.

Does that sound too horrible?

Then try this (which incidentally was the original finisher I had planned for workout C)

Grip it and go!

Grab one heavy dumbbell or kettlebell and walk with it in the suitcase position (farmer’s carry) for 20 meters in one direction put it down and then walk back with it in the other hand. Once you’re back at the starting point, set down the DB and then perform the designated exercise.

•Round One: Farmer’s Carry (down and back) paired with Burpees x 5
•Round Two: Farmer’s Carry (down and back) paired with Spiderman Push-Ups x 5 per side
•Round Three: Farmer’s Carry (down and back) paired with Mountain Climbers x 10 per side
•Round Four: Farmer’s Carry (down and back) paired with plank to tricep extension x 10
•Round Five: Farmer’s Carry (down and back) paired with KB Swing x 10
•Round Six: Farmer’s Carry (down and back) paired with Prisoner Reverse
Lunge x 10 per side

I like these challenges but prefer sticking to something simple, so I'll make the burpee challenge my pick.

Thanks for the great idea and the great workout!

I'm the same. Simple is best although sometimes I get a bit carried away.

Glad you're enjoying the workout let me know if you need anything else.
