Smile OK, this is IT!!!!

So, this is my first contest and I am not totally sure what to expect. I have been procrastinating and putting this off for ever so I have finally decided that I am just going to DO IT!

I am 47 years old and know that this is going to take some serious dedication and commitment. I am a little worried about making sure I stick to a good nutrition plan and stay motivated to do all my workouts. I need ALL the advice I can get so bring it on!!!!

Congratulations-capture the feeling you have right now that this is the RIGHT time and hold on to it! The contest is a great chance to establish good habits that you can carry forward. I've found it's important to be forgiving to yourself if you have slip-ups. Just work towards consistency 90% of the time with good nutrition basics (fruit, veggies, raw nuts, lowfat dairy if it agrees with you), and enjoy splurges 10% of the time without guilt. I have found that tracking calories carefully is really important to getting good results.

One other thing I would say is to push yourself to the max with your weights, and you'll get
results that will help motivate you to keep going!

Good luck!

Shannon

Hi and welcome. The forums are a great place for accountability and if you're worried about sticking to nutrition, as well as tracking calories like Shannon said, you might also want to post your daily food intake in your contest thread - no matter how mundane you may think your breakfast, lunch and dinner is, someone will be reading and will give you feedback!

What workouts are you planning to use?

Looking forward to your success...

Welcome to your first contest! As others have said, the forums are a great place for accountability and to answer questions. Good luck!

Hi, shebst, good luck with your transformation!!
You should expect nothing less than your absoulte best!! This why you are here after all!!
You might want to start by doing a practice round of your first wkt, shop&plan for the next week, set short and long term goals and focus on making small improvements in your nutrition.
Btw, don't forget to post everything you're doing. It really helps you to stick to your fat loss plan. Especially posting your nutrition. There are sometimes so many foods that can sabotage our diet and of which we are unaware...
Have a great day,
Ion

Thanks Shannon! Question, do you mean that you splurged during the contest or were you completely strict without any deviations during the 12 weeks? I am really good about my eating for the most part-- veggies, fruits, fish, chicken, eggs, oatmeal, etc. -- but was wondering if the occasional glass of wine is ok or if that is taboo. Also, I love my cup or two of coffee in the morning with non-fat creamer, is this permissible or something I should be giving up? I want to be really good about my nutrition. Anybody have any good recipes or meal ideas that you want to share?

Hi Waleed. Thanks for the encouragement. Any suggestions on your favorite workouts? I was thinking of doing Bodysculpting for women or the Fat Loss Fusion. What is your favorite for results?

Ladies, what have been your workouts that got you the best results?

Faye
