5:15 - 1.5 TJ's chile chicken lime burgers, green beans, 1/2 ear corn

Good day although I probably should have done something more active this evening. Read and snacked, but kept it to healthy snacks, fairly low calorie.

Day 6 - Saturday, September 11, 2010

*2 hour hike - 4 miles (plus walking to trailhead), 1,100 feet
11:00 - very small handful dried fruit & sunflower seeds on hike
12:30 - salad w/dressing on the side, 1/2 roll w/butter, 4-5 pieces small fried calamari, meatball sandwich w/sauce
5:45 - 1/2 cup edamame, 1 ear corn, green beans & onion; 1.5 oz cheese

We had a great hike and lunch with an old friend and her new boyfriend. We went to Rattlesnake Ledge, which is one of many hiking trails just east of Seattle. No rattlesnakes, not sure why it's named that. It was a foggy morning, so not much view, but the fog was pretty too.
A few pictures:

Got stuck in bad traffic on the way home but eventually made it and took a short nap.
Had the same snacks tonight as last night, except less grapes. I almost made popcorn too, but decided I wasn't at all hungry and wouldn't be able to keep my eyes open anyway.

Think I'm going to have my usual breakfast tomorrow, then take a little trip to Whole Foods (there goes my birthday money.... ). I may see if they have any good looking brioche for a treat. I love brioche and it's more of a bread than a "sweet". Going to make lentil soup for birthday dinner.

Summary of Week 1 Goals:
  • Post nutrition and activity every day - good!
  • 3 TT workouts (including Sunday) - yes, Sun., Tue. Thur.
  • Average 10,000 steps/day (Monday through Saturday) - yes, even averaged over 10,000 including last Sunday
  • 1-2 fasting days (including Sunday) - one day, Sunday
  • Take 7 tsp fish oil/day and Vitamin D - yes
  • No sweet treats (including dark chocolate), with one exception only if my co-workers do a surprise for my birthday - yes, no sweets at all! I was glad there weren't any birthday surprises at work
Had a really good first week! The scale showed only 0.4 lb drop Saturday morning, but it tends to bounce around a lot for me. I feel good.

Week 2 Goals:
  • Post nutrition and activity every day
  • 3 TT workouts
  • Average 10,000 steps/day
  • 1-2 fasting days
  • Take 7 tsp fish oil/day (less on fasting days) and Vitamin D
  • No sweet treats (small amount of dark chocolate is ok)
  • Do nightly relaxation techniques
This week, I'm going to try adding in the relaxation techniques from here:

I've never tried anything like that, but it's worth a shot! Relaxing and getting enough sleep is definitely one of my big problems.
