Default Earning the right to wear the Mikey pancake t shirt

I'm yet to master the art of maintaining work outs over summer. I just can't do it. I'm a musician and over summer work almost every night. This alone feels like a work out, but not. Anyway... I did keep a close eye on the food and didn't get too crazy with the booze and did manage to maintain my weight. That's good, but without workouts.. I'm feeling floppy...very floppy indeed. So I'd like to join on in.
I'd really like to get rid of a few more kilos. Maybe if I can keep the food like it is and start the work outs again maybe I just might.
I was lucky to pick up a high speed blender at the start of summer for under 200 pounds delivered to Portugal. woo.. It's been the saving grace of summer with the green smoothies.
I'm going to start easy... very easy and work it up. There are so many great workouts that Craig is putting out there and finishers from Mikey too.
This makes me very fired up, but will go easy. I think at the moment I'd be sore the next day doing 10 squats. Ok, I'll get there and then make some pancakes..

Welcome Deb,

Glad you were able to watch the nutrition over the summer. That's my weakness, I'm great at working out, but love to eat.

Blenders and green drinks are awesome. I've been juicing for awhile and it's really helped.

Hope you reach you goals and get un-flappy.

Cheers,

You got this! Start conservative and just keep going. That's the key. Then, hit your goals and have some pancakes.

TT. Finishers. Pancakes.

Yep Mikey.. Easy does it right now. I think I will do the workout you posted a little while back when you injured yourself. "The minimal approach" Seems wise..

Here's a recipe for coconut pancakes my wife likes, from Marks Daily Apple

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/4 cup coconut flour
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch cinnamon
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 cup coconut milk (full fat)

Method:
Mix these ingredients and let them sit for five minutes. Oil or grease up your pan and heat over medium heat. Pour about a 1/4 cup of batter for each crepe, allowing each side to brown before flipping it.

While the batter sits for five minutes, you can squeeze in a finisher. I'm sure the pancakes would taste a million times better after that.

Good luck in in TC15

ooo ... Thanks.. sounds like a deadly recipe. I like the bit where we can squeeze in a finisher... nice touch.

I literally got back on the bike yesterday and went for a ride around the bush. Was nice to feel the heart pumping like that again. I reckon when the heart pumps like that it's a real motivator. Makes me just want to do stuff. I know people say diet is most important, I heard Catherine say she believes it to be the other way around, but I think I've come to the conclusion that they both are equal. Like ying and yang, sun and moon..etc. I think diet has to be with exercise. Not just diet alone. If the ratio is 90/10, then that 10% is vital.

I spend maybe two months without working out, just light exercise. Although I feel good on the inside from maintaining a clean diet, I don't feel and strong physically, I feel my fitness level take a serious dive south which actually effects how deep I breathe not to mention how floppy I'm feeling. I haven't been in the reverse situation where I only work out and diet is crap. I only hope I never am.

Righty-o .. official working out regime starts Monday when my kids return to school. In the meantime, I'll ride the bike and do stuff in the garden and some yogic stretches.

I've been starting the day the power green smoothie way and have never felt better in my life. I can't wait to be in full swing and feel like this from the food with TT and Finishers

POWER GREEN SMOOTHIE..
2 cups Kale ( couve portuguesa)
1 apple
1 peach
1/2 cup almonds
1/4 cup linseeds
6 dates
1 tea spoon lucuma powder
2 tea spoon maca powder

mmm.. this will keep me going

Smile hello again

Hi Debz

great to see you on here too. Yes we made the big move back home! All seems a bit of a blurr at the moment, I am still trying to find a job but it's hard finding something that fits around the boys. My eldest has just started high school and is finding the homework tough going (so am I!) boys have a bit of an upheaval as they have moved schools twice but hopefully we are settled now (well for a while!)

We seem to have opposite problems, I always maintain my TT workouts, but let the nutrition slip, while you managed to maintain and are good with nutrition, but skip the workouts.!

Guess we need to cheer each other on and fix our vices!!

Hope had a good Summer and still enjoying the gigs

heres to a great TT contest - I def need it, being at home all day is not good for the figure!

Cheers for now Katie
