Cool.. I just ordered "The Best Veggie Burgers on the Planet" book that has been on my wish list for months. Really looking forward to some good veggie ideas and hope the kids get into it too. I'd defo like to achieve the art of making veggies tasty and eat less meat.
I sorted through a few programs and *think* Big Six could be a good starter for Friday.. ?? Now.. I just have to get to sleep before 4am.. transitions transitions..

Hi Deb

so glad you are along for the ride for number 12 too! Now will it be the scenic or direct route this time, what shall we take??!!

I think I need to take the direct route for the first 5 weeks as I am heading home and need to go home looking the best I can, especially since my family have seen my photos from contest 9 and saw what I looked like before and after! I can't let things slip now that's for sure, I have 4 brothers and they will tease me mercifully if I look fat!! (like they have most of my life - mmm brothers who'd have em!)

I started the big 6 after I finished the last contest, I did a week or just over then got sick, so no TT for 2 weeks, but I am back to it this week. I am really enjoying it, it's quite good with all the jumps etc followed by squats, you can really feel it i your legs

good luck, I offically started on Sunday, day 1 of the contest but nutirions was a bit dogy on Sunday and yesterday, have been really good today, now just need to make it through the night!

so happy you are going to be on here too, nice to see my 'ol mates along too! Am hoping Gill joins us too.

Keep smiling

Cheers for now Katie

Hi Deb, What is the ETA on that book? I'm interested to see how you like it. I'm always trying to find new ways of finding things that taste good. It makes it so much easier to stick to plan.

Cheers Katie.. you got me thinking about the scenic route or direct? To be honest, I'm not sure how to get on the direct route. I think I'll be probably going scenic for the first part to get warmed up into it and let my winter routine settle and then hopefully power full steam.

Today was my first workout ( Big 6 ) since 4 weeks ago.... Surprisingly it felt good. I was expecting dizzyness and nausia but I didn't.. horay. Right after I went to the local creek and had a swim. I'm milking that sun for as long as I can before it heads off to the southern hemisphere.
Tomorrow I'm going to do abs 1000 and then Friday I'll do Big 6 again and do the pics and measurements. I'm expecting to have gone a bit backwards since August seem to become Cheat month.. but really worth it.
So my first 4 weeks will be
Big 6 Mon, Wed, Fri with Abs 1000 on a thursday.
Yoga, garden(veggie) and other outdoor jobs like pick almonds, pick olives, sort firewood.. as off day activity
Get hip to the veggie trip.. can't wait for this burger book to arrive and can't wait to eat my own grown veggies too..so tasty..

Hi Deb

can't wait to see what the burgers are like, they all sound yummy. I tried out those chickpea burgers last time you posted, and I really liked them. Kids thought they were a bit spicy so I might have to change the spices a bit next time. Mine did fall apart a bit so might have to experiment a bit with that.

Hope you are enjoying the big 6, I think it's a good progame to do to get back into it, I had a couple of weeks off too, think it has to be done after a contest.

I am trying to take the direct route, whether I end up taking a detour is another matter!! I head home in 4 weeks and that will definitely be a detour, I will be socialising lots, not the best time to do a contest, but hey maybe it will keep me on the straight and narrow (a bit!)

Really glad you are along for the ride again, looking forward to seeing your progress.

Oh and can't wait for the sun to head this way, although last few days have been great

Keep smiling, cheers for now Katie

Hi Deb

I don't have a super blender either, I bought the ninja at walmart or something like that. It's not really expensive it's around 50 bucks

You should try that one for your shakes

Default RE: Snack Power

Hey Deb,

Had some fage 0% yogurt with blueberries, sugar free jello and a little sugar free maple syrup at 4PM, and it worked like a charm. I've got to find that balance where I'm in enough of a deficit to see timely fat loss without getting impatient and cutting my calories so much that I go overboard at meals.

I'm definitely not complaining though, because every time I get it right I learn something invaluable. It really is worth it!

GREAT choice I've made a batch of burgers every week since buying that book - great for shoving in the freezer and having a quick tea during the week with a bag of salad or sweet potato fries.

Quite a few recipes call for TVP. If you want to limit soya, replace the tvp with beans (I've found black or cannellini work great), and only add the stock if the mixture needs it. I've replaced all my burgers with beans and they've come out a treat.

What yoga are you doing? I've been doing it very infrequently for the last 2/3 years. I really want to up my practice, but it's all about finding the time...
