Default Losing the Inches! (Shanda)

Hi! I am just starting a thread for this contest. My husband, Joel, and I started the contest a little late. We took pictures on 1-16 and started the workouts on 1-18. I was a part of 2 previous contests. I quit during my pregancy. Now my baby boy is almost 6 months old, and I really need to get serious and lose some weight. I am still 15 lbs. from my pre-pregnancy weight. My last 2 contests were quite successful. I lost weight and inches and started feeling a lot better about my body. Now, I need to get back into the habit of working out and eating better.
My back is sort of throwing me off. I am seeing a spine specialists and going to physical therapy for my back. I have a few tears and a bulging disc. Because of this, I have to change my workouts some. I am not using heavy weights and my back is always supported. It is tempting to give up, but I know a healthy diet and exercise will eventually help my back. I need to strengthen my core and just do the exercises properly.

I just wanted to get my thread started tonight. I will post my stats soon.
I am excited to be in a contest again! Hopefully it will give me the motivation I need.

Shanda

Shanda,

Good to see you got started here. Get your back healed up so you can hit those workouts. I know you'll do well again as long as you stick to it. Stay strong.

Hi Shanda, sounds like your going through some bumps on the road but I like your attitude. Keep it up and good luck with the transformation!

Hey Shanda, it's nice to see you back! Check out the bodyweight workouts, they may help with your back?

In the last contests that I was a part of, I was more faithful with these threads. I started late with this contest and started with a bad back. My will power and motivation are not 100% right now. I know that it is a mind thing-I need to have will power and determination. If I work hard I will see results. So I am pumping myself up today to stay strong and work as hard as I can. I am joining my husband in a fast day today. My back feels pretty good right now so I am going to do my workout.

This week I decided I needed to be more dedicated. I will try to write more on the threads. And I need to be stricter with my diet.
Yesterday, I did my workout in the morning and then snow blowed and shoveled the snow. My meals were:
fresh fruit
scrambled eggs with veggies
lettuce salad with a lot of veggies
fresh fruit & string cheese
brown rice with 1/2 chicken breast
fruit/protein smoothie

I resisted the snacks. They are tempting but I stuck to the diet.

Today was an off day for exercise. I am home with my own kids and 3 nieces so it is a good day for an off day.
My diet is good so far today. I have cravings but have not given in.
My meals today will be:
2 scrambled eggs with veggies
mixed fresh fruit/string cheese
brown rice with 1/2 chicken breast
snack?
pork chops with veggies

Tomorrow I have therapy for my back and will try to get in my TT workout when I get home. It makes for a busy day. My 6 month old baby has an ear infection so hopefully he is feeling better by tomorrow. Thursday I see my back doctor again and will decide if I need to continue with therapy. I have had a month of therapy, 3 times a week. It has helped, but I still have some pain. Strengthening my core will help my back so hopefully I can keep improving it.

This was a better week for me. It was crazy busy, but I stayed much more dedicated to the diet. I went to the spine specialist yesterday and he released me from physical therapy. Yeah! I may have to start up again but I will try to see if I can do the exercises at home instead. I am hoping I keep increasing my core strength and strengthening the back so I can do harder TT exercises.

Today is a cheat day for diet and tomorrow is a fast day with a workout.

Default Essay and final pictures

One more contest down with good results! I participated in 2 previous TT contests and lost almost 30 pounds. I then got pregnant and gained many unwanted pounds. After my pregnancy, I suffered from lower back pain. I had to be careful with my back, but I knew that losing stomach fat would help me heal. I joined the contest a bit late, but decided it was time to lose some weight. During the beginning of the contest, I had back therapy and couldnít lift heavy weights so I found bodyweight workouts from TT that my back could handle. I didnít think that I would lose any weight using only bodyweight workouts. To my surprise, I lost 12 lbs and 14.25 inches overall!

I had needed some incentive to lose the baby fat. This contest was just the thing! TT gives you so many different options that work for each unique person. During my last 2 contests I used different kind of workouts, and they too gave me the results I wanted. The best thing I like about TT is that it is manageable. I am busy with 4 boys, one being a 7 month old who loves being by his mommy. I could use the excuse that I am too busy and with a baby it is just too hard to fit in a workout. But with TT, I can find the time to do my work out. I have even done my intervals pushing my baby in the stroller. My 3 older boys love doing bird dogs and jumping jacks so they join in as well. I hope to be a good example to them also.

It took me awhile to learn this, but with will power and the right methods, you can lose those unwanted pounds. If you make exercising and healthy eating a habit, it will stay with you. And pretty soon you enjoy your workout and it is a part of your lifestyle.

I still have a long ways to go, but I have the means to get there. With so many workouts to choose from and the knowledge of healthy eating, changes can be made. Iíll be back in for the next contest!

Thank you Craig for TT and all that it offers!
