Default I Must Conquer the Pull-up!!

Hey everyone!!! Starting my TT14 contest log.
Hoping if I stall I can look back and see what I need to change. And get guidance when I get stuck. Will try to post everyday.

Reasons I desire weight loss :
1 -To be a fit couple (my husband is already there ) to enjoy life fully.
2 -Don't want to be weak when I am old.
3 -Want to feel good in my skin.
4 -Truly desire to be strong.
Doing a Pullup is an important goal and a girl can't be too overweight to do this.
I can do a chin up but not a pull up.

Good Luck and Train Hard!!!!
Bev

Thanks. I have been doing assisted ones building my strength. I believe it was Rachel Cosgrove that wrote an article on it saying its very hard for women if they have extra Body fat. That's all I lack now. Yay. Gotta lose it.

Hi Bev!

Great that you posted your goals! Good idea to have weekly goals too.

About pullup: the ultimate ladies challenge... It has also been a challenge for me forever... The muscle structure of ladies is just different, so one needs much less body weight to be able to do a pullup. I am not a weakling still I already gave up on this goal... but now you reminded me! So why not?! Lets go for it!
Two years ago I started to learn rock climbing, and I was confronted with the hindering of my overweight. My leg or arm can only pull up so much weight

I wish you to reach all your goals and have fun in the process!

Ariane

Same boat Bev. Assisted ones help, so do negatives. Work up to 10 seconds. When you can do that a pull up wouldn't be far behind. Good luck, Concetta

I am (somewhat) ashamed to say that as a 43 year old guy, I have never been able to - and still can't - do a pull-up. It's one of my goals for 2012 - to do at least one pull-up (losing the 70 or so extra pounds I'm carrying would be a good place to start!).

So, all I can say is, GO FOR IT!
