I have had high uric acid for a very long time (since I was 6) and it turned into gout in my 20s. Currently I'm on 300mg of Allopurinol every day and I can't remember the last time I had an attack (it might be time to revisit the doctor to test the incidence of attacks with a lower dosage). I believe the weight loss has helped significantly as well.

I noticed a few different things could set it off for me:
- lack of sleep (eg. 3 hours a night)
- stubbing my toe
- alcohol
- stress

or any combination of the above. I had no problem with red meat, rich food, seafood, tomatoes or any of the other factors that have been attributed to it.

One thing that set it off without fail was too much sugar - drinking a can of coke would cause my foot to throb. Strangely enough, the research mentioned seems to support my experience. Take a look at this and see what you think: http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2009/10/05/gout/

Hope this helps. Non-sufferers don't understand the debilitating pain this can cause.

Thank you very much for the information Gerry...

Thanks Kerry,

I sure will. I think I'm going to use the XFLD next month to get all the way down to where I want to be.

Thank you for all of yours Katie,

I wish I could've been around more during the last six weeks, but I have been going through a lot in my home life.

Cheers Matty G.

Hey there Matty,

Congrats on the incredible results,,, what a transformation! Looking forward to your next transformation. I saw that you are going to use BDHC. May I suggest that you also have a look at the Clash of the Titans #2. Wow, what a grueling program. Personally I found it to take longer than other programs I've tried. For me, even the 2 sets of warm-up took over 20 minutes, but the workouts are really effective.

Cheers for now and all the best with what you're going through.

Blessings to you mate,

Robyn.
