Don't know if you tried it but it's awesome- the first 2 phases are pretty much ok, but then it slowly turns into a vicious combination of BW circuits (10-15exercises per circuit) that you must do without rest btw sets. Later you are allowed for more often rest periods, but the exercises become more advanced (towel chinups, 1-arm inv rows) and there are exercises requiring for max-1 rep all over the place (sigh...). Totally love it because it's so challenging. I'll be doing phases 3, 4, 5 during this contest and attack phase 6 in December!! I promise I'll have a look at Meatheads V, I'm not so familiar with Craig's muscle building wkts... Have a great day, Ion |

Day 1

Arise, by Flyleaf Day 1 is done! The gym opened late today so I got up and went to the hardware store first to get a few things. My husband and I have spent the entire weekend re-doing the kitchen. Lots of scraping, painting, moving things around, emptying the cupboards, etc. I am exhausted! I haven't done any strength training since I finished TTC 8 about 5 weeks ago. I focused only on running for 3 weeks, and then after the half marathon I took some time off. I started with lower weights this morning to make sure I didn't hurt myself. :D Today's Workout TT for Meatheads V - Workout A Superset #1 Deadlift (60/70/70 lbs) 3x8 DB 1-arm press (palm face head) (15/15/20 lbs) 3x8 ea Superset #2 DB walking lunge (15 lbs) 3x12 ea X-body mountain climber (BW) 3x12 ea Triceps push down (70/70/80 lbs) 3x10 Superset #3 Power shrug (51 lbs) 3x8 Cable rear delt raise* (20/12/12 lbs) 3x10 ea 1-leg calf raise (20 lbs) 3x12 ea *The cable machine has a minimum of 20 pounds. I couldn't do 10 reps with good form so I switched to DB rear delt raises. We took pictures this morning but they are still in the camera. :rolleyes: My husband is also joining the contest. Hurray! I am up only about 2.5 lbs from TTC 8 and I think it is all in my midsection, lol. I am very happy with the 2.5 lbs, though. In the past, I have yo-yoed quite a bit between contests. |
