Lamest Excuse Ever...

Which would be the excuse of why I haven't started a thread here yet: I couldn't think of a good title!

Also because, frankly, I'm embarrassed. I've gained back so much of the weight I have lost. The past few months I went through a bit of a depression and became best friends with a certain boozy pirate. I used to drink once or twice a YEAR, now I was drinking every night.

But I'm one week into the contest and one week without any alcohol and I'm feeling great!!!

My start date was September 11 and my finish date will be December 3.

weetamclan 09-18-2011 09:51 AM

There's been something in the water regarding weight gain...

Anyway, as many wise folks have said, it doesn't matter if you fall off the horse, what matters is you get back on and give it a good ole' giddyup. There will always be ups and downs but as long as an up follows the down there's nothing to fret over. What's done is done! (The baboon in the Lion King had a similar motto).

Anyhoo, congratulations on a successful first week :) This contest looks like it's going to be very competitive!

neilg197 09-18-2011 10:32 AM

agree with what my young Scottish friend has just said.

Time to bring things back into focus and get that TT contest prize-winning figure back.

GillianM 09-18-2011 10:39 AM

Well done for committing to the contest. No better time than now to get back into the swing of things.good luck!

Hi Abbie

Hey there Abby,

So great to see you back. I had a look at your 1st TT contest way back when. Awwww, you have the cutest hairstyle I think I've ever seen. Revisited your last entry too oh Woman of Muscles,,, hehehehe. I hope you're still under 40yo, otherwise I've got some extra tough competition this time,,, as if it's not tough enough already. I know of one lady who has done soooo well already which is really marvellous. Congrats on the no-drinking. I'd done the same this year with the alcohol. Funny enough though, I just had some at 9am this morning, but it's what is supposed to make the asian herbal formula kick in faster. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it ;), esp. since I would never have even known about asian salt-free rice wine otherwise. Potent stuff really. Anyhows, enough of my rambling on your thread. Just so thrilled to see you here again. Even viewing your pics again has greatly inspired me. Thanks mate.

Cheers for now,

Robyn :)

Hey hey Abby, Let's help Craig hit that 500 pounds lost number. I'm back on the wagon myself. My husband says that sometimes you have to get off the wagon and give it a push. Now get your daughter to use her jedi mind to make you reach your goal. Transform body you will!

Hey, Abby, welcome back! I still remember that awesome back shot you took. Whew! I STILL aspire to that. I know you'll rock this contest. :)

neilg197 09-24-2011 03:20 PM

Hi Abby

I was considering doing MRT as my next one when the one I'm doing is over. Are they really as short as 20 - 25 minutes as that would really sell it to me?!!! I might struggle with set 1 of workout c as I would need all my weights to for my deadlifts.

Sounds like youre really getting back on track and to where you want to be.

Hi! The 2 "lifting workouts" (Workouts A and C) have been taking me 30-35 minutes and the 2 "circuit workouts" (Workouts B and D) have been taking me 20-25 minutes. It's probably a little different for everyone depending on your set up. I don't have straps or a TRX, so I've been using substitutions. But I like this workout quite a bit!

Good luck with whatever workout you choose! :)

cesium0122 09-26-2011 07:11 PM

Day 16

Can't believe it's Week 3 already. This contest is going to go fast! No time for going off track. The first 2 weeks went pretty well - down about 5 lbs. I'm thrilled that I am back into pants that were beginning to get a little "snug".

TT Metabolic Resistance Training, Workout A

BB split squat (70lbs) 3x8ea
Underhand inverted row (BW) 3x12

Superset #2
DB 1-arm push press (20/20/25lbs) 3x8ea
DB offset reverse lunge from deficit (25lbs) 3x12ea

SB roll out (BW) 3x12
Decline CG push up (BW) 3x10

Oh my, what a workout!!! So you can actually do those Grasshopper push-ups?! My hat of too you luv.

I actually did one of those MRT workouts, I think it was one that you posted. Needed to make a couple of modifications such as the Burpees which ended up as more of a squat, toe-touch and up, (with only the right arm in the end 'cause of the golfer's elbow). Shows that it can still be done though :)

You're one tough cookie mate,,, lol.
